The New KISS GEM is easily one of the lightest, smallest, most inexpensive rebreathers on the market today. It is simple, reliable and, with a travel weight of only 18 pounds, is perfect for the recreational or traveling diver! The GEM will extend one's gas supply 3 times. For example, if a cylinder of Nitrox would last one hour without the GEM it would last 3 hours with it.

Rebreathers are only sold in conjunction with proper training and signed factory documentation, usually face-to-face. Pricing on all KISS and Shearwater products, per Jetsam Technologies, is in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and can vary with currency fluctuations. Included in the price of the KISS GEM Diving System:

• 1 GEM scrubber head includes, 2 hose attachment towers, 1 exhaust valve, gasket & cir clip, O-ring.
• 1 GEM canister. Includes threaded tube, base, internal base cross support
• 1 cylinder attachment system. Includes GEM mount with 2 SS hose clamps attached to canister, & cylinder mounting system attached to cam strap on wing.
• 1 17” standard loop hose. This hose will be attached to the right hand/2nd stage regulator T piece with counterlung ring attached. Opposing end will have a quick disconnect hose stub attached.

• 2 GEM specific 17” loop hoses. These will have the mouthpiece hose attachments on one end and a quick disconnect hose stub on the other. 3 ballast rings will be installed on each hose.

B.U.D.

Clip it off or stow it in a pocket and forget about it. The Gorilla Bag from Cressi is made from a strong heat sealed PVC, is completely waterproof and can be used to carry equipment in the car after use.

Because it is completely waterproof, equipment can be rinsed with water inside the actual bag. It has a special release cap situated at one end to let out the water easily and conveniently. Gorilla comes with handy carry handles and two straps that can also be used as shoulder straps.

The Neptune Space G.divers mask is available in 2 sizes and 4 color options (emerald, blue, white and pink) and includes an integrated balanced 2nd stage regulator and low pressure hose.

The patented bellows style face skirt, molded from premium grade silicon rubber, uses a “spring profile” and large sealing surface - double the size of conventional masks (30-45mm) - to achieve a very comfortable fit and ample support. This “spring” effect is a combination of the double “S” section and the inner support ribs which allows the G.divers Full Face Mask to “float” comfortably on the face.

The head strap is directly attached to the face shield, allowing pressure to be distributed equally along the mask skirt. The six straps of the head harness hold the mask in a firm position due to their low elasticity. The tip of each strap (rubber) is wider, making them easier to grasp while wearing neoprene gloves. The FRB II (fast rotating buckle) allows the mask to be donned and doffed quickly. These unique face seal and strap concepts are OCEAN REEF patents.

The Neptune Space G.divers may be equipped with a surface air valve (SAV) that allows the diver to breathe ambient air while at the surface. The SAV may be easily assembled on the octopus/SAV port . Each SAV comes with 4 colored silicone rings to match the mask color.

Prism 2

The Prism 2 is the culmination of almost twenty years of development of the design begun by Peter Readey. Recently purchased by Hollis, PRISM is an acronym for Peter Readey's Incredible Steam Machine. This unit can be electronically or manually controlled which means you choose how you want the loop PPO2 maintained. includes shoulder mounted counter lungs and rear mounted radial scrubber which provide easy breathing with low resistive effort and low hydrostatic loading. The standard kit includes an electronic control and displays with a BCD and harness assembly that provides a complete kit ready to dive out of the box. The Prism 2 can also be delivered in a plate/wing combination. Prism 2's are scheduled to begin shipping as soon as March 2012.

Design

The Prism 2 gains gas efficiency by circulating breathing gas in a breathing loop, unlike an open circuit SCUBA system that dumps the exhaled gas with each breath. The Prism 2 maintains safe oxygen levels, removes CO2 from the breathing loop, and delivers warm breathing gas to the diver.

The Prism 2 accomplishes this through the following breathing loop cycle:

1. The Oxygen and Diluent (air, trimix or heliox) tanks provide the source gas.
2. Exhaled gas enters the breathing loop, and a one-way valve inside the Dive Shutoff Valve (DSV) directs the breath to the righ side counterlung.
3. The right side counterlung is the location of the manual oxygen addition valve and system over pressure relief valve.
4. The exhales gas then enters the scrubber cannister where the carbon dioxide is removed.
5. Gas leaving the scrubber passes the three (3) O2 sensors which analyze the breathing mix, and the Prism 2 electronics add oxygen as required.
6. The breathing gas passes through the left side counterlung where the manual diluent addition valve is located, and maintained gas volume is available for breathing.
7. Gas leaving the left counterlung travels again through a one-way valve in the Dive Shutoff Valve (DSV).
8. The gas is inhaled by the diver, and the next exhalation begins the cycle again.
