Learn to Scuba Dive – Beginning Scuba Class

The PADI Open Water Diving Course is the beginning of your underwater adventure! Imagine watching countless fish on a tropical reef as you glide weightlessly below the surface and continue to breathe!

In the Open Water Scuba Diver Course, our instructors will take you through all the basics of learning how to dive. You start in the classroom at Lone Star Scuba where you will be introduced to the equipment and practical knowledge needed to safely enjoy your new hobby. You will then proceed to an indoor heated Junior Olympic size swimming pool, not a tiny in-store pool, where you will learn and practice the basic skills of SCUBA diving. Your beginning scuba class concludes with four open water dives where you can first experience the excitement of being in a whole new world. After the class is complete you will receive your PADI Open Water Diver certification card that will allow you to dive all over the world.

PADI eLearning

The course schedule consists of a Friday evening, Saturday morning and afternoon, and Sunday morning and afternoon to complete the classroom and pool sessions. The lake weekend is the following weekend and is usually a full day on Saturday and a half day on Sunday.

The course price is $399 which includes the required textbook, rental equipment during the course, instructor and certification processing.  Each student must provide their own mask, snorkel, fins and boots.  If a student purchases these four items from Lone Star Scuba their course fee is reduced from $399 down to $349. The eLearning course is $369, or $319 with purchase of personal gear from Lone Star Scuba, plus the $174 fee paid to PADI for the online portion. There is an additional course fee of $50 for students ages 10 and 11 as the student to instructor ratio changes for the safety of all in the course.
