Enriched Air NITROX

You've read about it, you've heard about it, but what is NITROX and what can it do for you?

First off, NITROX is not the name of a new dinosaur. Nor is it an aging cream used to remove wrinkles.

That's great but what is NITROX?

NITROX, from a real world definition, is any mixture of NITRogen and OXygen. Air is NITROX. But in SCUBA, NITROX is any mixture of nitrogen and oxygen where the percentage of oxygen is above 21%.

Yeah.........so?

From your first class in SCUBA on, you have been explained and warned about the dangers of nitrogen in the air we breath. This gas is directly responsible for decompression sickness, also known as the "bends", and nitrogen narcosis. What if there was a way to reduce these dangers without limiting your dive? There is a way........its called NITROX.

NITROX, or EANx, can be used in several ways:
1) When used with air tables, it provides a substantial safety margin because your nitrogen uptake will be less.
2) If used properly, it can increase your no-decompression times.
3) Since the nitrogen is less, the narcotic effect of nitrogen is lessened.

After this NITROX class, you will be able to use the two Nitrox mixtures of EAN32 (32% O2) and EAN36 (36%). These two standard mixes can be used in the normal recreational diving within certain limits. You can use your standard regulators without making any modifications for these mixes. Your tanks may need to be oxygen cleaned and they will need to be properly labeled.

This course normally runs about four (4) hours in length in the classroom. You will learn about the history, the physiological effects, the physics, the pros and cons of NITROX, and how to properly and safely use NITROX. After successful completion of this course, you will earn a certification which you can use to purchase and dive with NITROX.

Did you know that you can use EAN36 at 95fsw and DOUBLE your no-decompression bottom time or lessen your nitrogen maybe up to half!!!!!!! Take this class and learn how!
