OVERVIEW
The TDI ( Technical Diving International ) Advanced Gas Blender course is to provide the student with the skills and
knowledge needed to safely handle high pressure gases and
prepare various breathing
gas mixtures for use by divers such as nitrox, tri-mix, helitrox,
heliair, oxygen, etc.
QUALIFICATION OF GRADUATES
Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered competent
to prepare various breathing gas mixtures for use by divers without direct
supervision provided the equipment used is the same as or approximates that
used in training.
PREREQUISITES FOR ENTERING THE COURSE
Minimum age of 18
Certified as a Nitrox (EANx) gas blender or equivalent.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
The students are to analyze the resulting breathing gas mixtures from their
own breathing gas blending practice. Students shall demonstrate mastery of the
breathing gas blending system used in training including equal or lessor level of oxygen service or oxygen clean status. Each student will be
able to complete a blending and cylinder filling operation for each gas blend
sold by the facility without prompting by the instructor and without error.
REQUIRED SKILL PERFORMANCE AND GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
In order to complete this course, students must:
1. Satisfactorily complete Nitrox Blender Course written examination.
2. Successfully blend and analyze 5 cylinders of nitrox and 3 cylinders of trimix..
3. Demonstrate proficiency in blending and analysis of nitrox (EANx) and trimix gases.
